One State Under God
I had something I wanted to post about but I'm incredibly tired and stressed at the moment. Something happened this weekend that kicked my butt and my tired brain hasn't recovered yet.
I did want to mention this though. When Lamb started kindergarten, we had only lived here for a year. She came home that first day and informed us that they pledged allegiance to the flag. I thought that was pretty cool since the Memphis schools had stopped that. Then in the next breath, she informed us that they also pledged to the Texas flag. I have to admit that I didn't believe her. I had never heard of such a thing. The next time I saw her teacher, I asked, and sure enough, they do. It went like this:
Honor the Texas flagOver the summer, legislature decided to revamp the pledge. Now we say this (& I hope I get it right as it's still brand new to me):
I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas
One and indivisible
Honor the Texas flag
I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas,
One state under God,
One and indivisible
We will never forget

i guess there is good things about TX. they have the courage to say the pledge and even make ppl do it to the state. Then they palce Under God. how wonderful is that. if only all the states would do that. Bring pride back to the country. then we would not have all these ppl out there protesting and we would not be in the trouble we are in now. We then could say screw you we are going to kick the crap out of you. so start being scared!!!
i felt bad today. I asked why are the flags half masted, what dumb butt politician past away this time. then somone informed me that it was 9/11 today. oops sorry. i do not keep tabs on the days any more. i either work or i am off. that is all i need ot know.
My teens told me they did not observe the moment of silence they have in years past. How sad. How quickly they forget. xoxo
Don't feel bad, CB. I think you are entitled to forget what the dates are.
Little Son told me this morning that he prays every morning during the moment of silence. I'm so proud!!
Of course he could be praying, "Please God let me get a Wii for Christmas...."
You certainly should be proud! Bear prays too and it could be for the same thing! Hee! It doesn't help that his daddy is on the Wii bandwagon as well.
Our boys are so good that I bet the Wii is the afterthought prayer. ;)
