Sincerely 'Fro Me to You - New Life Edition
Back in '98, we started a new life with our two kids here in Texas. To mark our new adventure, we had a picture made in Galveston. Our reaction the first time we laid eyes on Galveston beaches is a post for another day. This is all about my loathing of this picture.
I think it's an excellent capture of Lamb & Big D. Bear doesn't look bad even though he's not facing the camera. I look like something the waves tossed to shore. The wind has blown my hair in my eyes. I still have my Bear baby weight (we won't mention that he's around 7 months old here). And my outfit? Good grief. And I remember how I loved it because it was loose and comfortable. Ack.*Disclaimer: I did not crinkle up the picture because I hate it so. Although, I did find it wadded up in a drawer.

What's so funny is that the way ya'll are standing, Big D looks REALLY tall!!
Look how cute and tiny your kiddos were!!!
I think it's a great photo. I love how the kids are looking at each other.
*And I too had a few dresses like that!
Don't beat yourself up about the baby weight. If he's 7 years, then yeah, maybe it's time, but 7 months? Your body doesn't fully recover for 2 years!I had a dress similar too, it flowed over the , um extra bumps.
I'm with Bubba's Sis about the height difference between you two. Or at least how it appears.
I'm all about comfort. It was a comfortable dress, be at peace.
It's not a bad photo! But since you don't like it, don't scrapbook it! You all look sweet to me.
I can't imagine someone losing the weight just after 7 months! I mean you have an infant and well you know that means you have no time to step foot in a gym! Loose and comfy! Nothing better than that! Yeah, I still wear my maternity dress and well cringe when I am putting it on. LOL

I had a dress eerily similar to that which I wore in junior high - needless to say, there was no baby weight to cover up at that point!
What a fun picture! Before I read the other comments, I was like, "Wow, a really tall man or is that really short woman?" Ha!
I still wear the comfortable clothes....years from now, that's what I'll be saying of old photos..Ack!
It's a nice picture!!! Did that dress have one of those little clip things in the back, too??
What a great backdrop for the photo.
Heck I've still got a little baby weight left over 7 years later!
What a sweet famliy picture.. I think we all had/have a dress like that!
Tell me that you've shown this picture before and that people commented about the height thing. Otherwise I'm having some detailed deva-vu!
And dude...Gremlin is 5 and I'm still trying to lose it!
Is he really that much taller than you, or is he standing on a rock??
When the husband and I decided to adopt, I secretly decided I would take my newborn around town and - when people complimented me on how great I looked - I would just smile and say, "thank you."
Then we adopted a Chinese one-year-old. Foiled!!!
(And BTW, I think you look great.)
You look just fine. I'm carrying some extra pregnancy weight and my baby is 4!
Take care
Julie
I think you look just fine, and no I am NOT sucking up or just saying that. :)
LOL! I am quite the shorty but not THAT short. And Big D is quite the tally, but not THAT tall. We are standing on a jetty.
And, yes, JenGi, it is a repeat picture! But not for this carnival.
I was gonna ask if Big D was really that tall!
Baby weight... always took me a good 2 years to lose!
