Choosy Moms

When I was pregnant with Lamb, for whatever reason, Big D & I were at the grocery store to buy peanut butter. I looked at all the choices available to me and felt overwhelmed. "Big D, what brand should we buy?????"

Big D looked at me and said: "Well, you are about to be a mom and choosy moms choose Jif."

So that's what we bought. And, to this day, it's the only peanut butter I'll buy because of Big D's words (and Jif's ad slogan).

I will also buy only Sunbeam bread. Living in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, we would drive by this billboard for Sunbeam. It is huge with a girl swinging across the sign. Sunbeam reminds me of home, of my youth.

What about you? Are there any brands you'll buy because of their slogans or sentimental value?

I'm all with you on the Jif and I'm pretty loyal to Dunkin Donuts for their coffee. Shoot, for their donuts too if you get right down to it! :-)

I spent all day yesterday and today thinking about this.

For most brands I'm loyal to, it's because I've tried what's out there and I like that brand the best (like Jif).

Then tonight, I decided to polish some silver and that's when I knew one answer to your question: Wright's silver cream.

That's the only silver cream my mom and grandma ever used and the only one I use. It was always an honor to be allowed to polish the silver at Thanksgiving time.

I remember the first time I went to buy silver polish and I was amazed to learn that there were other brands. The one I had ever heard of before was Wright's. So I reached over and grabbed the Wright's.

jif is the best! And I have seen that sign in person many times! Yes, that exact sign, same location. Relatives in Pine Bluff, you know.
