Sincerely 'Fro Me to You - Playing Bride

Welcome to this week's edition of Sincerely 'Fro Me to You. This is what happens when girls get bored.
Hanging out at my best friend's house, age 12 approx., we decided to take turns modeling. So, we whipped out my Kodak Disk (loved it!) camera & took turns in her mom's wedding dress. We posed in other outfits, but the pictures are long gone & I can't remember. Maybe my friend does? I'll have to ask her.

I'm sorry about the picture angle. I tried everything I knew to do to rotate the image without a big white background. Obviously, I couldn't find anything to work. Just tilt your head, it's all good.

That's a great photo!! We used to do that, too except we never took pictures. Thank God for that! lol

My Sincerely 'Fro post this week is about my husband because I want him to let me paint the dining room purple. I pull no stops, my friend. No stops.

I found a box the other day full of Kodak disc negatives. I wonder if there is a place to send them to reprint the photos!

I would always get my siblings to pose while I took their photos.

Great photo! I totally forgot about those disc cameras. What crappy pictures those were. or maybe that was just me. I had lots of dolphins and gorillas on mine from too many zoo trips.

Too too cute! My kids play in my wedding dress too. The thing is- I'm short & petite. They're tall & curvy. They get it from hubby's side. Anyway, they'll never fit into my dress. :(

Tilting...yes, adorable photo. I love dress up and wished I'd saved all my stuff for my girls!

Oh my gosh! I had one of those disk cameras! Wow, that really brings back memories!

Adorable picture. I miss those days...of playing dress up when everything was oceans too big...now I'm lucky if I can get one leg into clothing from five years ago!

What a beautiful child bride you were! And so solemn! ;-)

MMMM . . . a yellow veil. I think I can pinpoint the year that was actually used - lol. I had forgotten about the Disc camera. I'm so jealous of you - I really wanted one back in the day!

I had a Kodak Disk too and I LOVED it as well. Have you ever gotten any of the negatives redeveloped? I wonder who could do that?

You were adorable playing bride. I would have been all over that too.

I also had a disc camera. Is the dress gold? Or just the veil? Very groovy.

Oh, thats adorable! I never dressed up as a bride, I did, however, dress up like an ostrich once (true story).

We had the exact same funky patterned carpeting in our kitchen. I think it was the kitchen, those years are just one big orange, goldenrod and brown blur now...

Oh my gosh, look how precious that is!! You actually look like a little princess! :)

I had a kodak disc camera also. I loved it so much. :)

When we're young we want to be grown up-when we're grown up we want to be young. Crazy isn't it? I too had the camera.

What a cute photo. I'd scrapbook it even if it is tilted. Gives it character!

Thanks for coming by Jerri's Journey and for your kind words. I do thank God every day for how well my daughter has turned out.

I think the funniest thing is that the dress fits...

Oh that's so sweet.... we used to put towels on our heads play the wedding march and one of us would waltz down the stairs.... someone's brother would have to play the groom... haha

I loved to play dress up! That was my favorite thing to do as a girl! That and play with my babies!

The expression on your face is about the same as mine when I DID walk down the aisle... sort of that deer in the headlights, "what have I gotten myself into?" kind of look. LOL. Fortunately, it all worked out!

Oh, and I'm so glad to know I'm not the only klutz who once clung to her Olympic dreams.

Also, thanks so, so much for your kind words of encouragement about our China adoption wait. We are hanging in there -- but every time I say that phrase, I picture a noose. :)

My friends and I did something like that once but it was at a store. The manager got kind of mad at us once she figured out what was going on.

Love the picture. You look so serious!

Isn't funny how long we enjoyed playing dress up and barbies. I played with them forever and kept it a secret.

That's such a great photo, D--wow! I think your friend's mom is rockin to let you play with her wedding dress! I had me a disk camera too! I think I still have some undeveloped film as well, but I fear what could be on it, lol. xo

This is great! But when I was a kid, I had 4 brothers and 3 boy cousins, so we played pirate.

Hey D! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I LOVE the wedding dress. And the camera angle. You guys were pretty good for being only 12!

Ooooo...I would have loved getting all dressed up in a wedding gown. In high school, my friends and I went to a bridal boutique and tried on some dresses for fun...I don't think the sales people appreciated it too much. haha :)
