I Do Not Have the Luck O'the Irish
If you follow any Gulf Coast blogs, then you know we are keeping our eyes on Ike, the newest hurricane heading our way.
Usually, I take these things with a grain of salt. However, Big D is going out of town on a business trip. You know what that means? Ike will hit while he's gone. I'll be stuck here with 2 kids, 2 pets, & a fear of evacuation driving. That's the way my luck rolls.

I think we're going to be OK on this one, too. It's still a long ways out, but my gut is saying we're not gonna get much out of this one, either. Let's hope my gut is right!
I think Bubba's Sis' gut trumps your lack of Irish luck. I hope it does.
that is a scary thought.. I'm praying for you. Stay Safe!
I'm so glad I found some blogs written by people who live near me. I can read y'all's blogs instead of watching the news. It's way more fun!
I think we might get lucky and just get the side of Ike, but I think you may be right in that we're not going to get completely missed this time. But, I do think it's not going to be as bad as Alicia. Remember 1983?
Let's pray that it passes you guys. I know it must be scary for you.
Take care, plan ahead, and keep a close eye on where they say it will hit. I trust you'll be ready and do whatever is needed. I'm sure your hubby is not happy that he'll be away.
DS' school was cancelled for Friday too. and it keeps moving up the coast little by little....hang tight girls! keep in touch!

Hope all is well there!
