Safe

I finally have cable/internet back.

Thank you for all the prayers, encouragement, and love. I appreciate them & ya'll more than you'll know.

Last night was the scariest, most intense night of my life so far. I have pictures to share and once I catch up on my sleep, I'll post them. Needless to say, I didn't sleep any at all last night. However, the kids both had good night's sleep. I can not even fathom how they were able. The power of being a kid, I guess.

We have some damage but nothing life threatening. The insurance adjuster is calling us no earlier than Wednesday (wanna place bets on when we get that call?) to set up an appointment to look at the damages.

Our power came on at 1pm. So we were without power for only 12 hours. We are very fortunate as over 2 million people are still without electricity. Bubba's Sis' house being one of them. Please pray that their house is ok. We don't know yet the extent of their damage. The area around me was flooded today so I was unable to check for her.

I just wanted to let ya'll know that we were ok and to offer my sincere thank yous!

More from me tomorrow...

We are coming home tomorrow. The pictures we are seeing on TV are shocking and devastating. Areas all around us are destroyed. Hubby's grandmother's house in Kemah - the house where he grew up - has 5 feet of water in it, according to a report we received (she is not there, thankfully). Pray we are able to get home safely, and that we come home to minimal - if any - damage to our home. I love you all out there in Blogland!

I wish I knew whether our power was going to be on or not. We're going back tomorrow. I never wanted to leave.

Our fence was blown down. We knew it would be. Family and neighbors have checked on things for us. We'll have the roof inspected, but we think it's okay. My husband just hates the thought of no AC, which is why we're here and not there.

No school Monday or Tuesday. I don't know about the rest of the week.

I'm glad you are all okay. I am anxious to hear from everyone else in our area. Take care.
