Camera Critters #4
I have loved flamingos ever since I portrayed a sassy one in a play when I was a junior in high school. I had a way cool mask. Sadly, there are no pictures to prove it. It was at a drama competition in Massachusetts (where I lived at the time). The Boston Globe awarded me with the Best Character Portrayal award or something to that effect (fuzzy memory). I was thrilled! It's hard work standing one leg, ya'll!

You were serious about the flamingo part? ROFLOL, girl I can totally go for giving you that award. One Legged D...you're hands down (and leg up) my favorite flamingo friend. xoxo
Know why flamingos stand on one leg? Because if they picked up the other one, they'd fall down!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Flamingo humor for today.
Love ya, Girlfriend! Muah!
Nice picture in a lovely setting! After a field trip one I asked my first graders what their favorite animal was. One little girl said," I like them big pink chickens."
Love that Sharon! My daughter used to call them: FlamingDogs. It was a sad day for us when she learned their true name.
good photo I alwys loved them
Great picture! Flamingos are beautiful!
Great photo! Now we certainly know where the daughter gets the acting talent, eh?
I love taking photos of flamingos! I go nuts when i'm at the zoo (San Diego)... beautiful photo, looks like a postcard!
Cool flamingo photo!!! I’ve not see any for quite some time. Love your sense of humor ;--)

They certainly give everything a pink hue!
Those are cute
I have a flamingo picture hanging on my bedroom door. It was drawn by one of my kids in the second grade. (My youngest is 28.)
I'd love to know more about what the Boston Globe said ....
Were you the pink of the bunch, I mean pick of the bunch?
I love looking at the FlamingDogs! They're so pretty!
Hiya! Re: Melissa Marr... I would wait 'til the official entrance to high school. 1st book is a little racy, but not too bad - 2nd book deals with how a girl recovers from a rape, and it's very racy, but not literally so. My suggestion would be for you to read them first (I bet you'll love them) - then decide what you feel is best for Lamb. I'd have them in a high school library. 14-up, for sure. Just read a great new book called Oh.My.Gods - perfect for Lamb!
