19 Years Ago Today

Coastie Brother, do you remember what you were doing 19 years ago today? I do!! We spent the day at the water park, Adventure River.

I woke up that morning not realizing what this day would mean. All I knew is that we'd have fun and it beat sitting at home. I even went to bed that night not thinking much about what happened. Foremost on my mind was how much sunburn I got. Little did I know how important this date would become. Nineteen Years Ago! Boggles the mind. On this date, I met the man who would become my husband.

Even today, I can clearly remember the 1st time I saw him. Coastie Brother and I were walking down an aisle in Wal-Mart. Future hubby was leaning against the wall waiting for us. When I envision it, it's always in slow motion with my hair blowing out. Take My Breath Away by Berlin is the background music. He worked at said Wal-Mart with our then stepmother and thought it would be fun for us to join him & his buddies at the park.

We met a few guys that day, I even dated one of them, but hubby is the only one I can clearly remember meeting. And I didn't even think much of meeting him at the time. Oh, he was sweet and, I thought, gentlemanly (later, I found out that letting me precede him up the stairs had little to do with him being thoughtful). But, beyond that, he didn't register with me. It took me another month or two. How silly I was!
