Not your typical teenager....
My 13 year old daughter is cleaning her room, music blaring, singing at the top of her voice. Is she listening to Gwen Stefani? Nope. Fergie? Nay. Maroon 5? Wrong again. She is listening to her Wicked the Broadway musical soundtrack. This is the girl who reads Shakespeare without a Language Arts assignment involved. A girl who is perfectly happy being on the cross country or track team and not have any friends with her. She would prefer to sit with a friend at lunch, but, if there's not one available, she is just as content to eat her lunch by herself. Where did this child come from? She is so completely different than I am. The phone doesn't ring constantly for her, boys are just annoying creatures (I blame her brother for that one), and she loves to hang out with her family on the weekends. She is full of confidence, is willing to try things, and doesn't really care what people are doing/saying around her. The down side to this is that she doesn't fit in with the kids her age group. She has totally different interests than they do. She is sweet and they like her, they just don't hang out with her. While I struggle with that, Lamb is perfectly happy in her own world. She is not alone though. She has the perfect best friend who has the exact same interests as she does and LOVES to hang out with her. What more could a mom ask for her daughter? I want to be her when I grow up.

What a precious post (and picture!). As the mother of Lamb's BFF, I understand. My beautiful daughter is the same way. But I admire these girls because they KNOW who they are, and they have more self-confidence than I EVER did at 13 years old! They amaze me every day, and I am so proud of them!
Right on, Bubba's Sis! I still want to know where they came from! They astound me, these amazing creatures.
Having known these two since they met (and one of them since she was born), I have to say their parents must be doing something right. They are like two peas in a pod. And, I was completely blown away when I saw them perform in a drama competition! They are both just precious and they love each other like sisters. How rare - and how delightful!
Bubba's Mom, what a nice thing to say. Thank you. I must say, Lamb makes it very easy to do right by her.
They most certainly have the gift of drama!
i dont know about the friend but i think lamb just goes by my fav quote. WWUCD. WHAT WOULD UNCLE COATIE DO. i think sometime in her life she read the BOOK OF PAUL. for those of you who do not know what that is, just ask the big D. she willbe more than glad to tell you. Big D if you forgot you need ot be shot. nex to the bible it is a book that will make th ewhole world a better place to live if everyone followed it. it is based on th ebible, but has some modern day real life crap in it.

Big D? I think not! I'm more littlest D. I think there are other Ds who are bigger and badder than me!
You are sweet. That's why the kids love their Uncle Coastie so!
